Coronavirus Update & Precautions

At Bird-in-Hand, the health and safety of our staff, guests and community are our top priorities, and we have made some changes to our operations to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus. We hope that you and yours are safe and in good health and that you will be able to visit us soon. In the meantime, here’s what you should know….

Lodging:

Country Acres Campground is open with full services. We continue our enhanced sanitation measures such as frequent cleaning and disinfecting common areas. Our staff and guests also follow CDC guidelines of social distancing to include:
• Staying at least 6 feet from other people and not gathering in groups
• Covering your mouth and nose with a face mask when entering our buildings or common areas

Travelers Rest Motel is open. The dine-in breakfast is currently closed however we offer a to-go option featuring pastries, breakfast sandwiches, fresh fruit and other items.

Bird-in-Hand Family Inn is now open
o Our front building rooms is open but the back rooms remain closed at this time.
o One indoor pool, the hot tub and our outdoor pool are open.
o The arcade and fitness rooms are be closed.
o The playground, petting zoo, fire pit and all other outdoor amenities are be available.

Bird-in-Hand Village Inn & Suites is open.

Our motels and inns below are closed in accordance with Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) guidelines and Governor Wolf’s order. Our properties will open on the following dates:

The Amish Farmlands Tour will be canceled until further notice.


Restaurant & Smorgasbord / Bakery & Cafe:

  • The Bakery & Cafe will be closed for dine-in service until further notice. We will open our Cafe on May 21 for take-out from Monday-Saturday, 6 am – 3 pm. The Bakery will remain closed however you can purchase baked goods in the Cafe. Click here to view the menu. You can still order your favorite baked goods, gift cards and other items from our online store.
  • The Bakery stand at New Eastern Market in York is currently open on Fridays.
  • The Bakery stand at Roots Market will open May 26.
  • The Bakery stand at Bird-in-Hand Market is closed until further notice.

Online Store:

The Bird-in-Hand Online Store is open. Even when you can’t get out to shop, you can still enjoy your favorite treats delivered right to your door. Whether you are missing the taste of Lancaster County or know someone who might be cheered by a special treat, check out our selection of Grandma Smucker’s famous shoofly pie, PA Dutch whoopie pies, gourmet gift baskets or gift cards to use at a later time. Stage:

We have postponed the opening of some shows on our Bird-in-Hand Stage and anticipate re-opening in June. If you have a reservation between now and your show’s opening date, it has been canceled and a credit will be applied to a future reservation for the 2020 season.

Our onsite staff is currently limited, but please call (717) 768-8271 with any questions. We will be happy to try to answer them and will respond as soon as possible.
