Authentic Amish Country Experiences
Steeped in history and tradition, rural Lancaster County is a fascinating destination with a unique culture. We invite you and your group to join us behind the scenes and experience the Amish culture first-hand – to be a part of an Amish celebration or to step back in time to a bygone era and experience the lifestyle, cooking, farming and crafts of the Amish, Mennonites and Pennsylvania Dutch. Our special experience packages will keep your guests talking and give them memories they’ll want to share for a long time to come.
Our special group experiences include:
From the moment you join us on the hayride until after the family-fun activities, corn maze and music around the bonfire, you’ll create great memories of this relaxing evening in the country. Share a farm-fresh meal with the Smucker Family on our homestead, all served under a tent among the rows of corn. This authentic taste of Amish Country will be an experience you’ll remember forever.
For reservations, call (800) 537-2535.
Discounts available for groups of 20 or more.
Our Amish Wedding Feast involves your group in a two-hour celebration in a private banquet room. Our New Order Amish friend will welcome your guests and help them select a “bride” and “groom” along with two traditional Amish “side sitters” before everyone partakes of a traditional Amish wedding turkey roast, ham loaf, chow chow and other Pennsylvania Dutch favorite side dishes. Everyone goes home with a gift to remember this special occasion. (unavailable until further notice)
Everyday Life of an Amish Woman
Join us for an insightful look at the Amish way of life from a woman’s perspective. Learn about such traditions as weddings and funerals, Rumspringa, schooling, farming, cooking and how the Amish adapt to the modern world around them. You’ll hear from “Sadie King,” an Amish woman portrayed in authentic Amish dress by Susan Heil, an actress and long-time Lancaster County tour guide who has a Pennsylvania Dutch background herself and enjoys learning about the Amish. The program ends with a question-and-answer session to help you gain a better understanding of the Amish people.
This special experience is available with or without lodging. To arrange a memorable experience for your group of 20 or more, call (800) 627-1910 or e-mail us.
Join Us for the Holidays
At an Amish Christmas Celebration in our private banquet room, your group will learn about “Second Christmas,” family game times, children’s programs and other local Christmas traditions. Guests will also enjoy stamping with one of our New Order Amish friends, and savor a sumptuous Christmas feast featuring baked ham with pineapple sauce, an Amish roast turkey with bread filling, mashed potatoes with gravy and other favorites. (unavailable until further notice)

“Our entire group had a phenomenal experience today for lunch at Bird-In-Hand.
We were seated quickly with concise instructions that told us you are ready for this new normal. The food was hot and delicious and the variety satisfied every diverse preference. The service was gracious and instant, the staff friendly and helpful down to managing our payment of the tab.
You made me confident that the restaurant was suited for groups, the prices made me look like a good steward, and I will choose Bird-In-Hand every time because of our experience today.”
