Bird-in-Hand Bakery & Cafe

Artisan Bread Baker – FT, AM
The Artisan Bread Baker is responsible for scaling, molding and baking our full line of scratch artisan breads and rolls, as well as our soft bread and roll varieties. 21 or older, at least one year previous break making experience preferred. AM shift, starting at 5:00, Monday through Saturday, 5 days a week.

Baker – First Shift – FT, AM
The Baker is a full-time position that involves the production of baked goods: mixing, cutting, proofing, frying and finishing of scratch donuts. Performs other duties such as fillings and icings and other various types of mixing. 2 years of experience in manufacturing donuts preferred. 10 AM – 6 PM Sunday through Friday.

Bakery Truck Driver – PT, AM
The Bakery Truck Driver is responsible for transporting baked goods to various wholesale customers, with other tasks assigned between deliveries. 25 or older. Must have current PA driver’s license. Every Monday 4:30 AM. 7-15+ hours per week.

Donut Finisher – PT
The Donut Finisher is responsible for filling and icing a variety of donuts and preparing them for distribution. Food service experience helpful. 25 hrs a week, every other Sunday, Thursday and Friday, 4 or 5 pm – 10 pm.

Market Attendant – PT, Roots or York Market
The Market Attendant will be responsible for stocking market stands and waiting on Guests. They will offer a welcoming atmosphere to our Guests and ensure the Guest service standards put forth by the Smucker family are consistently met.

Retail Store Attendant/Market Attendant – PT, AM and PM
Currently looking for part-time opener and closer retail attendants with the ability to fill in as needed for Bird-in-Hand Market. Part-time closers will complete closing checklists in an efficient and accurate manner and count and organize money at the end of the day. They will offer a welcoming atmosphere to our Guests and ensure the Guest service standards put forth by the Smucker family are consistently met.

Retail Supervisor– FT, AM/PM
The Retail Supervisor will be responsible for assisting the Retail Manager in all aspects of Bakery retail operations. Approximately 35 – 40 hours per week. Some weekends included. At least one year in a lead or supervisory role required. Must be at least 18 years of age.

Bird-in-Hand Family Inn

Housekeeper – PT
The job entails cleaning and stocking Guest rooms to ensure the Family Inn’s high standards of cleanliness. You may be asked to clean common areas or assist Housekeeping Supervisor as needed.

Bird-in-Hand Family Restaurant & Smorgasbord

Buffet Attendant – FT & PT, AM or PM
The buffet attendant will provide and maintain an attractive display of fresh quality foods to our Guests. Always greet our Guests with a smile, willing to help out with any needs they may have.
This position is Full-time or Part-time. Flexible start times to 9:00 pm. Must be at least 18 years of age.

Bus Person – PT, AM or PM
To clear and reset tables in our dining room. Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the dining room.

Dishwasher – FT & PT
No Experience required – flexible schedule -. Must work 2-3 weekends per month. Closed Sunday.

Front of House Manager – FT
The Front of House Manager (FOHM) will provide leadership and training for all front of house operations to include: servers, bussers, hosts, cashiers and buffet attendants in a manner that is consistent with the standards and guidelines established. The FOHM will maintain all standard operating procedures throughout the Restaurant while monitoring and maintaining excellent Guest service standards. This person will also oversee the banquet team from the service perspective, making sure that we deliver a consistent quality experience for every event. The FOHM will be expected to drive a positive culture with the staff consistent with the mission and foundational values of the Owners.

Host/Hostess – FT & PT
To greet our Guests with a smile, escort them to an appropriate seat, and assist them in any way that will enhance their dining experience. Handle all cashiering procedures at the end of their service. No Sundays. 18 years of age and older Part-time or Full-time, AM or PM.

Line Cook – FT & PT
Responsible for the production, food quality, appropriate portion, and appearance of all food being served from the Short Order area. Full time or Part time.

Food Service Maintenance – FT
Responsible for the property maintenance activities for the Food Service Division of The Bird-In-Hand Corporation. Assist Corporate Maintenance Lead with maintenance at investment properties. Maintain the standards established by Ownership for our buildings, equipment, and grounds and for the organization and cleanliness of work and storage spaces. Work together as a team with Lodging Maintenance to help serve our organization with emergency and 24 hour on-call maintenance.

Prep Cook – FT & PT
Responsible for following the recipes for the production and quality of all of the foods served here at the Family Restaurant. Full-time and Part-Time.

Server – FT & PT AM or PM
Server must be knowledgeable of all foods served on both menu and smorgasbord. Takes the order from the Guest, always looking to suggest items that will serve to enhance their dining experience. Provides excellent service and quality food to every Guest. Part-time and Full-time AM or PM
