Bird-in-Hand Bakery & Cafe
Artisan Bread Baker – FT, AM
The Artisan Bread Baker is responsible for scaling, molding and baking our full line of scratch artisan breads and rolls, as well as our soft bread and roll varieties. 21 or older, at least one year previous break making experience preferred. AM shift, starting at 5:00, Monday through Saturday, 5 days a week.
The Baker is a full-time position that involves the production of baked goods: mixing, cutting, proofing, frying and finishing of scratch donuts. Performs other duties such as fillings and icings and other various types of mixing. 2 years of experience in manufacturing donuts preferred. Monday 8 am – 4 pm, Thursday 7 am – 4 pm
Must have experience in mixing, cutting and frying donuts.
Bakery Truck Driver – PT, AM
The Bakery Truck Driver transports baked goods to various wholesale customers with other tasks assigned between deliveries. Must be age 25 or older, must have a current PA driver’s license. This position is part-time with a 4:30 a.m. start, 7-15 hours a week, every Monday, additional hours to cover vacations of other drivers.
Café Attendant – PT, AM
Café attendants have a wide range of responsibilities including taking Guest orders, preparing food and beverages and keeping the self-serve and seating areas clean and organized. Attendants offer a welcoming atmosphere to our Guests and insure the Guest service standards put forth by the Smucker family are consistently met. To succeed in this position, you must have food service experience, be able to multi-task, have excellent customer service, integrity, positive attitude, and love working with people! Also be willing to start at 5:30 a.m. to open cafe. A local candidate is preferred because of the early hours. The position could be part-time.
Cake Decorator – PT
The cake decorator is a part-time position for a person with at least 1 year of experience that involves baking and decorating custom cakes. Position involves taking orders, assisting with cake and icing production, and creating seasonal displays for the retail store. Monday – Friday 7am – 3 pm. Every other Saturday.
Donut Finisher – PT
The Donut Finisher is responsible for filling and icing a variety of donuts and preparing them for distribution. Every Thursday plus one other day Monday – Friday 2pm – 7pm. Experience or a food service background helpful.
Market Attendant – PT
The Market Attendant will be responsible for stocking market stands and waiting on Guests. They will offer a welcoming atmosphere to our Guests and ensure the Guest service standards put forth by the Smucker family are consistently met. Tuesdays, Wednesdays, some Fridays
Retail Attendant – FT-PT, AM
The Retail Attendant will offer a welcoming atmosphere to our Guests and ensure the Guest service standards put forth by the Smucker family are consistently met.
The Retail Attendant needs to be able to work an 8-hour shift between the hours of 5:30 am and 6:30 pm. Previous retail and food service preferred.
Bird-in-Hand Family Inn
Front Desk Agent – PT
The Front Desk Agent is responsible for checking guests in and out of their rooms, answering any questions guests have, making recommendations for activities and restaurants, answering the phone and directing calls to the right department, taking reservations, maintaining the record of guests that have checked in and out, maintaining the cleanliness and neatness of the front desk area and keeping it organized
Flexible Schedule evening and Holidays
General Manager – FT
Responsible for the overall operations of the Bird-in-Hand Family Inn. Operational duties include hiring, training, supporting and supervision of all department managers; oversight and implementation of revenue management and budget activities, interpretation and implementation of company policies for all Family Inn staff.
Houseperson – PT (evenings and weekends)
To clean, disinfect and stock guest rooms to ensure Bird-in-Hand’s high standards of cleanliness. To clean and disinfect corridors, foyers, stairwells, and other areas. To serving guests as needed with room runs, luggage handling, and other requests. Assist Housekeeping Supervisor as needed.
BIRD-IN-HAND FAMILY RESTAURANT & SMORGASBORD
Buffet Attendant – FT & PT
The buffet attendant will provide and maintain an attractive display of fresh quality foods to our Guests. Always greet our Guests with a smile, willing to help out with any needs they may have. This position is Full-time or Part-time. Flexible start times to 9:00 pm. Must be at least 18 years of age.
Bus Person – PT, AM or PM
To clear and reset tables in our dining room. Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the dining room.
Dishwasher – FT & PT
No Experience required – flexible schedule -. Must work 2-3 weekends per month. Closed Sunday.
Host/Hostess – FT & PT
To greet our Guests with a smile, escort them to an appropriate seat, and assist them in any way that will enhance their dining experience. Handle all cashiering procedures at the end of their service. No Sundays. 18 years of age and older Part-time or Full-time, AM or PM.
Line Cook – FT & PT
Responsible for the production, food quality, appropriate portion, and appearance of all food being served from the Short Order area. Full time or Part time.
Prep Cook – FT & PT
Responsible for following the recipes for the production and quality of all of the foods served here at the Family Restaurant. Full-time and Part-Time.
Server – FT & PT AM or PM
Server must be knowledgeable of all foods served on both menu and smorgasbord. Takes the order from the Guest, always looking to suggest items that will serve to enhance their dining experience. Provides excellent service and quality food to every Guest. Part-time and Full-time AM or PM
Usher – PT
The usher will assist in the seating of Guests attending show and ensuring that all Guests have an enjoyable, safe, and positive experience while at the Stage. Flexible schedule with both a.m. and p.m. hours. Must work two Saturdays a month. No Sunday hours.
