Tour the Farms • Taste the Harvest

Feed your mind and delight your palate as you visit local Lancaster County farms, learn about their unique operations and sample the fruits of their labors. John Smucker is your host for this tour, which includes a flavorful luncheon featuring fresh, locally grown foods. It’s the ultimate farm-to-fork experience!\

- Two-night stay in the historic Bird-in-Hand Village Inn & Suites *
- Tours of local farms and a lunch made with ingredients from our tour – see itinerary below
- Daily deluxe continental breakfasts for two at the Village Inn & Suites or credit at the Bird-in-Hand Bakery & Cafe

Tour Stops:
5:30 am Rise, Shine & Dine: Wake up with the roosters and see cows being milked at our neighbor Aaron Lantz’s organic farm. Then savor a delicious farm-fresh breakfast with the Lantz family in their kitchen.
7:30 am The Time is Ripe: Take an orchard tour of Kauffman’s Fruit & Farm Market and learn how they produce their apple butter and apple cider.
9:15 am Goats on the Farm: Amish farmer Amos Miller at Misty Creek Goat Dairy will demonstrate how to make goat cheese. Shop for goat’s milk soaps and lotions before you leave.
11:00 am Dairy with a Difference: At Oasis Farm Cooperative, we’ll learn about the benefits of milk from grass-fed cows and hear from Leroy Miller, an Amish farmer and Co-op Manager. Get insights into grass-fed meats and organic dairy products, then observe milk processing and cheese production.
12:00 pm Grown Local Luncheon: You’ve seen where it’s grown. Now taste the farm-fresh difference. Receive a market basket of local foods after lunch.
1:00 pm Perfectly Pumpkin: Our last stop after lunch will be a visit to Bird-in-Hand Bakery & Cafe. See how we make our famous pies with home-grown pumpkins. You can even try our handcrafted Pumpkin Gingersnap artisan ice cream.
