About the Breakfast Menu

Start the morning right with Amish Country comfort food, from hearty eggs, breakfast meats, homefries, pancakes, waffles and more to lighter fare like fresh fruit, pastries, and hot and cold cereals. We make most of what we serve from scratch. In season, produce comes from nearby Amish and Mennonite farms. We serve meat, poultry and milk from local producers, and our eggs come from the cage-free hens at Smucker Farms, a local, family-owned farm across ten generations. You can taste the freshness!

Whether you live in Lancaster County, you’re here for a family vacation or are just passing through, Bird-in-Hand Family Restaurant & Smorgasbord serves authentic Amish Country food and other favorite dishes. You can make your selections from our all-you can eat buffet; enjoy just our soup, salad and bread bar; or order at your table from our extensive menu. We even have a kids’ smorgasbord. No matter what you choose, you enjoy scratch-made dishes made from fresh ingredients, locally sourced in season – and always reasonably priced. For more than 50 years, we have served quality food in a family-friendly atmosphere, where our experienced and welcoming service staff make you feel like you’re a guest at the Smucker family table.

We are open for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert, Monday through Saturday. Ask about discounted packages that combine meals with lodging and/or theatre tickets.
