BIRD-IN-HAND BAKERY & CAFE
AM Scratch Baker – FT
We are a high volume bakery best known for our pies, breads, whoopie pies, apple fritters and cakes. As a scratch baker you will assist with the mixing, baking and packing of our delicious products for our retail and wholesale outlets. The schedule is mostly Monday-Friday with some weekend hours during our busiest times. Are you a morning person? The shifts start between 3-6am and last between 7-8 hours
Cafe Attendant – FT or PT
A wide range of responsibilities including taking Guest orders, preparing food and beverages and keeping the self-serve and seating areas clean and organized. Attendants offer a welcoming atmosphere to our Guests and ensure the Guest service standards put forth by the Smucker family are consistently met. To succeed in this position, you must have food service experience, be able to multi-task, have excellent customer service, integrity, positive attitude, and love working with people. Must have availability to work anytime between 5:30 am and 6:30 pm and Saturdays. A local candidate is preferred because of the early hours.
Cafe Manager – FT
Provide overall supervision and management to our cafe. Regular manager on duty shifts which include the opening and closing of our café and retail store. 5 days per week including Saturdays. Closed Sundays. Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience and 2 years of food service experience. Pennsylvania food safety certification within 90 days of employment.
BIRD-IN-HAND FAMILY INN
Central Reservations – PT
Answer telephone inquires in a friendly and courteous manner, employ sales techniques in order to secure and process reservations for guest accommodations in a timely manner. Promote Bird-In-Hand Family of Inns reservations based on guest preferences and availability
Front Desk Agent – PT/FT
Check guests in and out, Communicate with other departments as needed, take payments including credit card and cash, respond to guests phone calls and requests, balance cash drawer at end of your shift. Must be available to work between the hours of 7:00 AM and 10:00 PM
Housekeeper – PT/FT
The job entails cleaning and stocking Guest rooms to ensure the Family Inn’s high standards of cleanliness. You may be asked to clean common areas or assist Housekeeping Supervisor as needed.
Houseperson – PT
AM shift from 6 am – 2 pm. Responsible for upkeep of pools, including pressure washing pools and pool decks, keeping windows clean, cleaning bathroom/shower rooms. Assist maintenance and housekeeping teams with various projects. Keep outside areas clean including walking the parking lot to clean up trash, cigarette butts, etc.
Laundry Attendant – PT
Wash, dry, and fold all laundry, treating stains as needed, stock supply rooms with clean laundry, operate washing and drying machines and golf card for collecting/delivering laundry, must be able to stand for a sustained period of time, ability to lift 30 lbs.
Pool Supervisor – PT
The pool supervisor will have responsibility for our pool facilities and staff and other common areas around the property to include vending, the arcade, guest laundry and exercise room. They will be an ambassador of the Bird-in-Hand properties, will maintain a high level of guest service and create processes to improve service quality and enhance the overall guest experience. Must be available to work evenings and some weekends (Saturday and Sunday).
BIRD-IN-HAND FAMILY RESTAURANT & SMORGASBORD
DishwasherÂ
Responsible to wash and clean all dishes and tableware, and cooking equipment and deliver them to the appropriate areas. Keep the dish room and equipment clean and organized. Must be at least 16 years of age. Must be available for flexible scheduling including Saturdays.
Buffet Attendant
Provide and maintain an attractive display of fresh quality foods for our guests. Always greeting guests with a smile, willing to help out with any needs they may have. Must be at least 16 years of age. Must be reliable and available for flexible scheduling including weekends.
Buffet Supervisor
Supervise buffet staff and operations while working as buffet attendant. Lead by example. Provide guidance to staff to ensure that our standards and procedures are being met consistently. Must be at least 18 years old. Must be reliable and available for flexible scheduling including Saturdays. Must be ServSafe certified with six months of being hired.
Busperson
Clear and reset tables in our dining room. Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the dining room. Must be at least 15 years of age. Must be available for flexible scheduling including Saturdays.
Front of House Manager
Provide leadership and training for all front of house operations in a manner that is consistent with the standards and guidelines established. The front of house department consists of servers, hosts, cashiers, buspersons and buffet attendants. This position will also provide leadership to the banquet service department, ensuring that we deliver a consistent quality experience for each and every event. The FOHM will be expected to promote a positive, high service culture with the staff that is consistent with the mission and foundational values of the Owners.
Host/Hostess
Greet our Guests with a smile, escort them to an appropriate seat, and assist them in any way that will enhance their dining experience. Handle cashiering procedures at the end of their service. Must be at least 15 years of age. Must be available for flexible scheduling including weekends.
Kitchen Line Cook
Runs the steamer line in preparation of our food for both menu and buffet. Guest satisfaction revolves around the food appearance, high quality of the food and overall dining experience. Must be available for flexible schedule Monday-Saturday.
Kitchen Prep Cook
Responsible for following the recipes and prep lists for the production and quality of all of all food served. Must be at least 18 years of age.
Restaurant General Manager
Provide leadership and support to all departments with a focus on front of house, guest service and administrative areas. Providing the team with the tools and information they need to successfully operate the restaurant with established guidelines. Create and maintain a positive culture consistent with company mission and values. Create management practices that continually develop higher levels of brand reputation for the business in the areas of service, product quality and facility appearance.
Server
Must be knowledgeable of all foods served on both menu and smorgasbord. Accurately take orders, always looking to suggest items that will serve to enhance their dining experience. Provide excellent service to all guests. Must be at least 18 years of age. Must be reliable and available for flexible scheduling Monday – Sunday morning.
Short Order Cook
Responsible for the production, food quality, appropriate portion, and appearance of all food being served from the Short Order area. Must be at least 18 years of age. Must be reliable and available for flexible scheduling Monday – Saturday.
BIRD-IN-HAND STAGE
Usher – PT
Greet and seat theatre guests, assist with the seating of bus groups, assist at our concession stand and possess excellent guest service skills. Flexible schedule, Tuesday-Saturday. Shifts available from 12-4 pm and/or 6-10 pm. Approximately one to three shifts per week.
BIRD-IN-HAND VILLAGE INN & SUITES
Housekeeper – PT
Housekeeper wanted for daytime hours. This job entails cleaning and stocking guest rooms to ensure the Village Inn’s standards of cleanliness. You may be asked to clean common areas as well. This position is for 3-4 shifts per week and may include Saturdays and Sundays.
TRAVELERS REST MOTEL
Housekeeper – PT
Responsibilities include cleaning Guest rooms, caring for public and outdoor areas of the property and helping transport laundry to and from the supply rooms. 3-4 shifts per week. At least 2 weekends per month required. Shift begins at 8:30 AM. Flexibility on end time is needed.
